Group Process and Art Therapy

This workshop will increase participants knowledge of art therapy techniques, applications and ethical considerations in a variety of group settings. We will explore group dynamics, roles, goals, interventions, and outcomes used in school and community based art therapy groups. Specific populations that will be addressed include school-based work with exceptional children and immigrant, refugee and newcomers as well as community based art therapy groups for adults living with mental illness and older adults facing Alzheimer’s and Dementia. We encourage participants to come with questions, engage in an open dialogue and a willingness to take positive risks through making a little art of their own!
